I was invited to envision a digital booking experience for IKEA’s new pilot hotel near Jing’an Temple in Shanghai. The experience should be simple, mobile-first, and budget-friendly, while reflecting IKEA’s values of:Modularity, Sustainability, Lifestyle-oriented design

Key Screens & Feature Structure

-Filter by date, number of guests, styles, and experiences
-Smart suggestions based on user’s IKEA wishlist
-Explore by trends, series, designers, or room styles

2. Explore Rooms

-Advanced filters: series, designers, colors, specific items, and eco options
-Room cards include hero image, room name, price, availability, capacity
-Style tags and IKEA featured items shown up front

3. Room Details

-High-res room images and detail views with wishlist support
-Basic info: floor, room size, bed size, guest capacity
-Full IKEA product list and layout highlights for each room

4. Confirm Booking

-Finalize with user info and service add-ons (e.g. pet-friendly, crib, eco-stay)
-Confirm and submit reservation
