Collaborative Storytelling

This thesis explores how games can be used to combat loneliness and foster emotional connections. It focuses on the use of collaborative storytelling and drawing within games to encourage empathy and communication, even when participants are physically isolated. The project involved three phases: starting with a 5-day drawing game, moving to a 20-minute story game with a wider group, and then transitioning to an online platform (Slack) for asynchronous participation. The thesis concludes by showcasing the variety of connections formed through these games, offering a new approach to social interaction in the digital age. The work suggests future development of a mobile game to further reduce isolation and promote social engagement.
